Nikitin Sergey Konstantinovich (1926-1973)
Russian Soviet writer, master of the story. He was born in the city of Kovrov, Vladimir region, where he graduated from secondary school. After graduating in 1952 from the Literary Institute, he was sent to Vladimir and worked in a youth newspaper. In 1955 he was admitted to the Union of Writers of the USSR. In 1957 his story "In a sleepless night" was awarded the gold medal of the Committee of the World Festival of Youth and Students, held in Moscow. In 1962 he became the organizer and the first chairman of the Vladimir branch of the Writers' Union. More than 30 collections of novels and short stories by S.K. Nikitin were published. The writer named the streets in Vladimir and Kovrov.
