Andrianov Nikolay Efimovich

Seven-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics, recognized as the best gymnast of the 20th century. In total, Nikolay Andrianov has 49 gold medals – at the Olympic Games (1972 - Munich, 1976 - Montreal, 1980 - Moscow), World and European championships, Universiades. By the number of sports awards, he was twice entered in the Guinness Book of Records. N. Andrianov was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Labor Banner, Order of the "Badge of Honor", the medal "For Labor Valor". Native of Vladimir, N. Andrianov for almost ten years headed the Youth School of Gymnastics named after N.G. Tolkachov in Vladimir. He is the Honorary citizen of the city of Vladimir. In 2014, on the house where N. Andrianov lived (B. Nizhegorodskaya Street, 32), they installed a memorial plaque. Next to this house, in the park named after Andrianov, a monument to an outstanding athlete was erected in October 2016 (sculptor I. Shanin).
